Grace Chan McKibben is a longtime leader in government and the non profit sector who has worked tirelessly to build coalitions across lines of race and class, getting results for all our communities. A long-term resident of the 25th District, she has the knowledge, grit and experience to represent the variety of voices in Kenwood, Hyde Park, Woodlawn, South Shore, East Side and South Chicago. Grace and her husband Tom met as UC college students and built a life together, raising their four children in Hyde Park and sending them to Chicago Public Schools.
For the past 15 years, Grace has worked in various senior level positions in government and nonprofit organizations, including as Chief of Staff at Illinois Department of Employment Security, Deputy Director at Chinese American Service League, and now Development Director at Indo-American Center. Early in her career, she was Associate Dean of Students at the University of Chicago, where she managed student health programs, implemented a new adjudication process for sexual assault and provided assistance to students in crisis.

Grace is a long-time board member of the Illinois ACLU, currently serving as Illinois’ representative to the ACLU’s National Board. She also sits on the Leadership Greater Chicago’s Fellows Association Board and is an appointed member to the State of Illinois Asian American Employment Plan Advisory Board.

Grace Chan McKibben 25th District State Representative
Born in Hong Kong, Grace first came to the U.S. as a teenager on an academic scholarship. She holds a B.A and M.A from the University of Chicago. She later obtained an M.B.A from Keller Graduate School of Management to enhance her business effectiveness.
As the 25th District State Representative, Grace will use her experience building and leading coalitions to restore the cuts to education and social services implemented by Governor Rauner, introduce comprehensive legislation to protect renters and fight to bring local control of schools to Chicago.
